Working with the psychological trauma

One of the functions of psychological counseling - a rehabilitation of post-traumatic stress syndrome or, as they say psychologists, working with trauma. This is a fairly common problem that must be solved psychologist.

In this article I decided to describe the principles of different approaches and to find a common component or, better to say, a common basis for all approaches dealing with trauma.

In the first place it is necessary to define what is meant by psychological trauma? Here psychology is not giving a clear single answer. And psychologists have very different interpretations of this phenomenon for themselves. These explanations are, in my opinion, come either from the patterns that are common in pop. psychology, or from the protocol itself work with trauma in one direction or another psychology that really work.

I think that this discrepancy is due to the fact that the action or verb object property attribute or object. Trauma - is not a thing, not a thing but a process that is often overlooked in explaining this phenomenon.

And it is clear such a representation, because the pain is also seen as an object, although it is clear that this process.

For a better understanding of the phenomenon is not true to say "pain" speak properly "hurt" anything or any place. Therefore, the psychological trauma is best viewed as a pain or something, that something hurts somewhere. In this case, we will have a clearer idea about this phenomenon and more understanding of the process of healing, is to eliminate the pain. So what is the psychological trauma with the above thoughts?

Psychological trauma - is negative (in the broadest sense of the word) the emotions and feelings that arise in moments of memories of an event or events that caused these feelings.

In working with trauma, you can:

In each model, we obtain its different from other models, the explanation of psychological trauma and work with it. This approach to understanding does not suit me.

After all, something still brings these methods of working with trauma? Why would it not be found? And then we will be able to create the most effective ways to solve this problem.

To understand the essence of psychological trauma, Let's draw an analogy with the physical trauma. Imagine that you are hurt, say, a skin - received abrasions and this place hurts. First, much weaker then, but if you're up to it is touched, it will start to hurt again. That's exactly the same behavior, and psychological trauma.

Once there was a traumatic event, it hurts badly, then the pain starts to subside gradually and can really go. But once you get to it is touched, that is, remember, then immediately begin to experience the same or similar emotions experienced at the time of injury. And if the injury has healed in this place, then touching it does not cause pain.
