Healthy meditation

It seems that meditation will soon be on a par with prescribing pills: US researchers have found it a serious therapeutic effect in the fight against hypertension.

Healthy meditation

For 19 years, they observed 200 patients who practiced transcendental meditation by a technique developed in the 60s Indian Maharishi (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi). It was found that the mortality rate among the fans of meditation on cardiovascular disease is reduced (compared with the control group) by 30%, and mortality from cancer - even by 49%! The authors of a study funded by the US National Institutes of Health (the NIH), suggests: the reason is that deep relaxation (practiced twice a day for 15-20 minutes) reduces the production of stress hormones.
