Who (except parents) will help a teenager?
In a typical children's clinic teenagers treat colds, gastritis, headache. Teens are embarrassed to talk to your doctor, who treated a child, on the prevention of infections, sexually transmitted diseases or unwanted pregnancies. And to go to the gynecologist are not at risk - nakrichit, tell my mother, not really explain anything. What to do?
from time to time in different audiences, consisting of professionals working with young people, we ask how they are convinced that it is able to protect their children from growing up and all sorts of risks - inevitable for any teenager. In the best case there is one or two positive response. We do not know, do not know how, do not themselves trained to prepare our children for adulthood. The average parent, for approval of psychologists, spends 8 minutes a day to talk with your own child. In these 8 minutes includes questions about the studies, whether garbage, dishes washed if imposed. Meanwhile, every day our children plagued by a variety of issues, they get into difficult situations, it is painful and difficult ... in 14-16 years, when it seems that the whole world is against you, when piled previously unknown problems, anxiety, doubt, and there is no one who would like to trust, to speak, to whom she could consult - where to go? For teachers? But the complexity of puberty excite them much less than the question of progress. To parents? Not so easy to say aloud what you care about. To the doctor? But how? At the children's clinic? And what is there: blush waiting for a doctor near Prema parents cradling babies? In the women's clinic, where you can casually run into their own mother, a neighbor, a teacher? The Skin and Venereal Diseases Clinic and the AIDS Center? One name becomes uncomfortable. The best - if nearby there is a clinic, youth-friendly. Teens are no longer children but not yet adults. They need a special approach based on the principles of accessibility, volunteerism, kindness and trust. It is on these principles is work spetsilizirovannyh youth clinics and health centers. In the clinic, youth-friendly (KDM), teenagers and young people receive medical, psychological and social assistance, aimed at their age. From other institutions KDM distinguished by the presence of specially trained to work with young staff, who treats her kindly, politely, respectfully and fairly, trusted, strictly observes confidentiality. Any teenager can voluntarily camostoyatelno, without their parents contact the YFC and get free medical treatment or consultation, making youth clinic available. Legislation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia alone entitles minors to seek medical help from 14-16 years. For example, in Ukraine and in the Republic of Moldova teenagers can do it at 14 years, in Russia - 15 years, in the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan - 16 years.

How does the CDM?
The friendly clinic is helping teens through a joint search for solutions with the expert of any problems. clinic specialist will not judge the teenager and accept him as he is. Welcoming, friendly atmosphere attracts teenagers and contributes to the creation of so-needed trust relationships with specialists.
And, importantly, in one clinic can consult a psychologist and a social worker to visit the dermatologist, gynecologist, urologist, get tested for STIs. For many teens first visit to such specialists causes fear and anxiety. The task of a psychologist - to remove this concern in an interview prior to visiting the office of the gynecologist or andrologist, to focus on the positive attitude to preventive examinations and youth clinic as a whole. Such a comprehensive approach to help okazniyu suitable for teenagers and gives the best result. Many teens turn to the CDM, being healthy to talk to a psychologist, to get information about reproductive health and contraception. Psychologist helps teens understand themselves and the training are taught how to avoid conflicts with others, with friends, parents, how to establish relationships with the girls (boys) and how to avoid bad habits. Dermatologist advises how to avoid STIs, and an obstetrician-gynecologist - how to choose an effective method of contraception and prevent unwanted pregnancies. Those teenagers who follow the recommendations of experts, tend to avoid serious problems.
Centers, friendly teenagers who are usually the structural division of the medical institution. Geographically, they can be placed in the children's or adult clinic, women's clinic or in the dermatological and venereal clinic, the AIDS center, or in the student clinic. Sometimes they work on the basis of social services, where physicians are invited from different medical institutions. But at the same time each KDM has a separate entrance, waiting room, and communication of adolescents and, if space allows, - room for group training and preventive activities.
My health is in my hands
These lessons are not only adult professionals, but also trained young people - volunteers. Communication "on equal terms" comes and KDM walls at school, at a summer camp. clinic volunteers are actively involved in the preparation and carrying out various activities, help in the dissemination of leaflets with contact information for KDM. clinics success largely depends on the initiative and activity of young volunteers who work "after" a healthy lifestyle and disseminate knowledge among peers. Commending the work of youth centers and clinics, teenagers puts emphasis on friendliness of the staff, confidentiality and professional skills of employees. Titles, degrees and doctor's regalia for a teenager have absolutely no value. For him, what matters is how an expert talking to him and understands him. In the opinion of young people, KDM - this is the only place where you can talk quietly with a professional on reproductive health issues and to obtain reliable information. Here, with respect and understanding to young people and their problems, protect the confidentiality and professional secrecy.

The Youth Clinic and parents
Although KDM is intended for independent visits by teenagers and youth is considered to be the territory, its doors are open to parents. An important principle of the CDM - the trust that includes physician confidence in the teens, teen confidence in the doctor and trust of parents to the youth clinic and her child. In order to strengthen this trust many KDM advise parents how to separate from the children, and together, which allows to solve many serious problems, not only medical, but also moral, psychological and legal nature.
For example, a youth clinic in Bratsk "Ariadne" round tables for mothers and their maturing daughters. It helps parents decide to discuss reproductive health issues with the girls. "Help, my baby is growing up!", "Maternal future" - this is the theme that has attracted considerable interest among both girls and their moms. They play different situations and learn to talk to each other. A very long time did not dare to come to the youth clinic Pope along with his sons, but today it is and it has become common practice.
On the basis of some KDM created "clubs for young mothers." Communication in youth clinics allowing them to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to care for the child, to feel the psychological support, meet and make friends with each other, enhance legal literacy.

A special feature of the KDM - work on education of responsible parenthood. It is carried out not through exhortations and appeals, and special trainings and discussions.
